Eligible Project Self-Sufficiency Participants may Receive Assistance during the Holidays
Holiday assistance is available to active Project Self-Sufficiency of Sussex County and Family Success Center participants.
Children and parents are invited to visit with the Easter Bunny, enjoy games, crafts, dinner and a petting zoo at the annual Spring Fling hosted by the Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency.
Hundreds of costume-clad children and their parents are invited to the annual Halloween "Spookatacular" sponsored by the Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency. Families are treated to crafts, dinner, Halloween-themed games, and a costume parade.
Children and their parents enjoy food, music, games, crafts, raffles and a visit from a special guest at the annual Holiday Party hosted by the Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency.
A complete Thanksgiving feast is distributed to hundreds of eligible families each November. Community donations provide frozen turkeys, fresh baked pies, seasonal produce, and side dishes like mashed potatoes, yams and cranberry sauce.
New, unwrapped toys and gifts are distributed to thousands of children and teens through the annual Season of Hope Toy Shop. Participants can also receive gently-used coats, hats and mittens for everyone in the family. All toys and gifts are donated by community partners, individuals, schools and local organizations.
