Outreach Effort to Sussex County Senior Citizens Offers Holiday Cheer

Project Self-Sufficiency's Earth Angels senior citizen initiative distributes holiday gifts to senior citizens during December.  Newton attorney, Elenora L. Benz, Esquire, originated the Earth Angels program in 1999 by enlisting the support of her clients, business colleagues, and community volunteers.  Project Self-Sufficiency assumed stewardship of the program in 2014.  Earth Angels is an extension of the agency's existing services to senior citizens and their families.

Holiday Donations Needed

Earth Angels solicits monetary donations, gift cards and other items for distribution to home-bound seniors in December.  Students in the New Jersey Youth Corps of Sussex & Warren County at Project Self-Sufficiency prepare gift bags which are hand-delivered by community volunteers during the week leading up to Christmas.

Gift cards from the following retailers are suggested: Shop Rite - Weis - Stop & Shop - Wal-Mart - Kohl's - Local Pharmacies & Hair Salons.
