Project Self-Sufficiency Food Pantry Offers Free Food

 

The Food Project: Nourishing Our Neighbors at Project Self-Sufficiency makes nourishing, essential food available to Sussex and Warren County, NJ, individuals and families in times of financial hardship. 

 

Open Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm.

​

This service is open to only Sussex or Warren County NJ residents; recipients need not be Project Self-Sufficiency participants.

 

Need help with other issues but don’t know where to get it? Call (973) 940-3500 to speak to a Central Intake specialist.

Help feed our neighbors in need by donating to The Food Project.

The Food Project

Donate Food & Personal Care Products

Funds to purchase items to stock our food pantry are greatly appreciated.  The agency is always grateful to receive donations of the following items:

​

  • canned soups and stews

  • canned fruits and vegetables

  • fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables

  • frozen meals

  • coffee

  • tuna

  • pastas and sauces

  • peanut butter and jelly

  • toothpaste

  • shampoos and conditioners

  • hair care products

  • skin care products

  • laundry detergents

  • diapers and baby wipes

  • toilet tissue

  • facial tissue

  • feminine hygiene products

 

Donations to the Project Self-Sufficiency Food Pantry will be gratefully received during business hours. 

In person donations cannot be received after 3:00 p.m.

Shop Rite Partners in Caring supports the food pantry at Project Self-Sufficiency.

Shop Rite Partners in Caring is a year-round, community-based, hunger-fighting initiative that works with more than 50 food industry manufacturers to provide more than $2 million annually to qualified charitable agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $27 million to more than 1,700 charities. ShopRite Partners In Caring supports emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, child care centers, battered women's shelters, senior citizen programs, drug rehab centers, programs for the mentally and physically disabled, after-school programs and other organizations that aid those in need. The ShopRite Partners In Caring Fund was established in 2002 as a component fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey to accept private donations that help fund its charitable endeavors.
