Holiday Toy Drive Brings Joy to Sussex County Children

sohonline

Funds to purchase toys for needy Sussex County children during the holiday season are greatly appreciated.

The annual goal of the Season of Hope Holiday Toy Drive is to collect 20,000 new and unwrapped toys for distribution to children and teens. Advance registration is required to receive toys.

Partners of the initiative include the Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency, Charm, Chatterbox Drive-In, iHeartMedia, Inc., Intercar Mercedes Benz, the New Jersey Herald, Pass it Along, The Printing Center, Selective Insurance Company of America, Service Electric Broadband Cable, Sussex County Chamber of Commerce, and Sussex Honda.

Toys must be new and unwrapped.

Items can be dropped off at Project Self-Sufficiency during the months of November and December, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

A limited number of additional drop-off sites are located throughout Sussex County and northern Warren County. Call 973-940-3500 for a location near you.

Donations of gift wrap, ribbons, gift bags and boxes, and stocking stuffers are also welcome.

For information about donating toys, or the funds to purchase toys, call 973-940-3500. Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers!

The families of Sussex and Northern Warren Counties thank you and wish you Happy Holidays!

Project Self-Sufficiency Board Member Kathy Esposito and her husband Lou Esposito are co-chairpersons of the Season of Hope Holiday Toy Drive. "Last year the Season of Hope Toy Drive gave gifts to more than 2,100 low-income children in our community, and we anticipate that the need will be even greater this year. We are very excited about chairing the toy drive. However, this effort is not just about the toys, but the feeling of Christmas which the toys represent. Through the Season of Hope Toy Drive, we all have the ability to help isolated families, and that is a gift that is returned tenfold. Being self-sufficient doesn't have to mean being alone. Let's all help each other out during this Season of Hope."
Area Middle Schools and High Schools are invited to "Stuff the Stocking" this year!
