Work Connections Family Literacy Program is so much more than GED Classes – it is one of New Jersey's leading Family Literacy / GED Programs. It features:
- GED/ABE/ESL Education;
- Testing and Assessment;
- Economic Self-Sufficiency Services;
- Family Activities;
- Support Services, like Legal Education and Help with Emergency Basic Needs;
- Limited Childcare and Transportation Assistance.
Celebrity Readers make Reading Fun!
Once a month, participating families visit the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center to take part in the Celebrity Reader program, an event which features an invited guest reading a book aloud to the entire group. Past Celebrity Readers have included municipal officials, state and local lawmakers, members of the agency's Board of Directors and other friends of Project Self-Sufficiency.
The Work Connections Family Literacy Program is FREE to all eligible individuals, and is funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Workforce Development. Services are offered on-site at Project Self-Sufficiency, Monday - Friday, with day and evening hours available.
